9001-37-0 Usage
Uses
Used in Diagnostics Industry:
Glucose oxidase is used as a diagnostic tool for measuring glucose levels in body fluids. It helps in the fast, easy, and inexpensive detection of glucose, allowing for timely measures to be taken if glucose levels are beyond the standard, thus reducing complications of diabetes.
Used in Food Industry:
Glucose oxidase is used as a food additive for the removal of glucose during the preparation of dried egg products. It also serves as an antioxidant in food and food wrappers, as well as a stabilizer for ascorbic acid and vitamin B12.
Used in Pharmaceutical Industry:
Glucose oxidase is used as an enzyme to help stabilize formulations and improve skin feel and condition in pharmaceutical products.
Used in Research:
Glucose oxidase from Aspergillus niger has been used in various research applications, such as in the glucose oxidase (GO) reagent to measure glucose content by the glucose oxidase (GO) method, to activate the human renal carcinoma cell line for constructing the oxidative stress model, and to study its influence in the paste on the analytical performance of the bioelectrode.

Biochem/physiol Actions
Glucose oxidase catalyses the oxidation of β-d-glucose to d-glucono-β-lactone and hydrogen peroxide, with molecular oxygen as an electron acceptor.
Purification Methods
The oxidase is purified by dialysis against deionized water at 6o for 48hours and by molecular exclusion chromatography with Sephadex G-25 at room temperature. [Holt & Cotton J Am Chem Soc 109 1841 1987.]
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 9001-37-0 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 9,0,0 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 3 and 7 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 9001-37:
(6*9)+(5*0)+(4*0)+(3*1)+(2*3)+(1*7)=70
70 % 10 = 0
So 9001-37-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
